  • Postdoc Fellow

    A position for a Postdoctoral Fellow is available in the Xu Lab starting from September 1st, 2022. We are seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow to dissect the molecular mechanism of Oncogenic pathways (PI3K/AKT/PTEN pathway and KRAS/BRAF pathway) regulating mitosis program and how does this altered mitosis program contribute to cancer development. Meanwhile, the postdoc fellow will have a great opportunity to developing novel therapeutic strategies to targeting these classical oncogenic pathways with newly invented technologies, such as PROTAC and AAV gene therapy.

    Candidates must hold a MD and/or PhD degree in cell and molecular biology or a related field. The ideal candidate should have experience with biochemistry and molecular biology, and be passionate about cancer biology and drug discovery.

    The lab offers opportunities to experimental and computational students for Ph.D. studies. Dr. Jia Xu is a faculty member of the Department of Genetics and a member of the Cancer Biology & Immunology Program and Experimental Therapeutics (ET) Program at the O’Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center. Students from UAB graduate schools who are interested in rotations please get in touch. We aim to build an intellectually stimulating and highly collaborative and supportive lab, where we exchange ideas, and help and learn from each other. Most importantly, we enjoy science and have fun together.

  • Research Assistant/Lab Manager

    A position for a Research Assistant/Lab Manager is available in the Xu Lab starting from September 1st, 2022. The Research Assistant will work under the general supervision of Dr. Xu and oversee day-to-day lab operations and carry out assigned research project in the lab within the context of the laboratory focus. The Research Assistant will perform mouse work (optional), bench work, manage lab ordering and supplies, manage cell lines bank and plasmids bank.
